Also known as Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at removing excess skin and muscle from upper and/or lower eyelids, as well as excess fat. Blepharoplasty can improve sagging skin and bags around the eyes, this can also help to improve vision in those people who have a significant amount of excess skin on the upper eyelid that falls over the pupil.
Although Blepharoplasty may create a crease in the upper eyelid, it will not erase evidence of racial or ethnic traits. Blepharoplasty does not remove crow’s feet, dark circles or other wrinkles.
Blepharoplasty is individually designed for each patient, depending on their needs. It can be done for the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, both or in combination with other surgical procedures on the eyes, face, eyebrows or nose.
Eyelid surgery cannot stop the aging process, but it can, however, decrease the appearance of sagging skin and bags in the eyelid region. The results and duration of recovery of an eyelid surgery may vary depending on the technique used which will be discussed during your consultation with Dr. Adrian.
