A person’s own fat can be used to improve the appearance of the body. Fat is moved from an area where it is less needed (usually the thighs or abdomen) to an area that has lost volume due to aging, trauma, surgery, birth defects or other causes.
In a few weeks, the amount of fat transferred will decrease and may not maintain its initial volume, therefore, your surgeon may inject more than is necessary at the time of surgery to achieve your desired result once full recovery has taken place.
